We are assembling goodie bags and filling them with things for our students to do with their families. I got all the supplies from the Dollar Store. Kites, whoopee cushions, darts, nerf footballs, and candy.
Along with those things, we are putting a blank card in their bag with the address of one of our Senior Saints (elderly church member) in the church that might be extra lonely right now and need a card. We are going to put a prompt for the family to help them know what to say in writing the card and questions to ask them.
We are also going to put a return envelope with a stamp on it for the Senior Saint to respond to their questions with.
We are hoping the goodie bags make the student feel thought of, the content connects the families, and the cards help the family in reaching out to some of our lonely Senior Saints right now.
